ABOUT THE EVENT

The Capital FM Cardiff Bay Beach is coming back bigger and better than ever and packing even more attractions into the summer holidays.

The new and improved Beach is located this year at Roald Dahl Plass,  Cardiff Bay. From July 20, the Beach is now open for six weeks of family  entertainment until the kids return to school, with much more on offer for teenagers.

TRANSPORT AND TRAVEL

Where will the Capital FM Cardiff Bay Beach be located and how can I get there?

We're located at Roald Dahl Plass, just by the Millennium Centre in Cardiff Bay. 

I am disabled. Where can I park?

Harbour Drive car park (CF10 4PA) next to the Norwegian 
Church has disability spaces available (first come first term basis).

Will coach parking be available? 

Coach parking is not available on site, but there is a drop off point at the entrance - from M4 use J33 A4232 to Cardiff Bay, go along Tyneside Road onto Porth Teigr Way, to the drop off point (BBC Roath CF10 4GA). Free Coach Parking is available in Cardiff Bay near Wales Millennium Centre, or you can book a space via the production team for £30 (excluding VAT). Email cardiffsiteoperations@cardiff.gov.uk  for a booking form.

What shall I tell my taxi driver? 

There is a taxi rank in Mermaid Quay and outside of the Millennium Centre, which all have quick access to Roald Dahl Plass.

I use a wheelchair/mobility scooter. How accessible is the event site?

The site will be flat and easily accessible with disabled ramps anywhere with an incline. Also please note cable ramps will be on the pathways, take care when travelling over them. The nearest parking spaces are at the Norwegian church at a first come, first served basis.

Will dogs be allowed on the event site?

Dogs will be allowed on site wearing a lead. 
However, access will be restricted in some areas.

Is there a FREE shuttle bus to get to the event? 

No there is no FREE shuttle bus that can take you to  the event site. The Baycar Number 6 Millennium Centre bus stop is the nearest public transport drop  off site and takes approximately 3 minutes to walk to the event from this bus stop.

FOOD AND DRINK

Can I bring my own food and drink?

Yes no problem, however due to safety concerns glass bottles and alcohol will not be permitted. There will also be a variety of food vendors on site catering to all dietary requirements 

What drinks can I buy?

Asides from the usual bar there is also a cocktail bar. Soft drinks can also be 
purchased on site.

GENERAL INFO

This event is a NON SMOKING event

Strictly NO GLASS containers to be brought onto site

Management reserve the right to exclude bicycles or animals (other than guide dogs) from entering the site at any time in the interest of health and safety 

There may be uneven/slippery surfaces throughout

Shoes must be worn on decking areas at all times

There will be 24 hour CCTV in operation

Permission MUST be given by event organiser for any professional photography or filming is permitted on site

In the interest of safety and comfort for visitors, the purpose of photography may be questioned by event staff/security

Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times

Strictly NO SMOKING on the sand

Strictly NO GLASS OR SHARP OBJECTS on the sand

Please do not leave litter on the sand and use litter bins provided

Please remember to enjoy the sun safely and wear appropriate sunscreen to protect yourself and your children

Please use designated recycling bins

Lost children wristbands are available free from any token booth or member of security staff onsite

Point out members of security and event staff to your children so they know who to approach if they become separated from you

Any lost children who have made themselves known to a member of staff will be escorted to the first aid cabin on site

Paddling Pool open 10am – 6pm each day

No inflatable toys, waterbeds, etc allowed

Paddling pool is frequently tested to ensure water quality is maintained and management reserve the right to close the pool at any time

Once paddling pool is at capacity, 15 minute sessions will be introduced 

Suitable swimming attire must be worn

The decision of the paddling pool attendant is final

All rides and game stalls use a Token system. Tokens £1 each with rides costing between two and four tokens per person

You can pay with cash, card or contactless at the Token booths

Please ensure that Tokens and change are correct before leaving Token booths as mistakes cannot be rectified later on

24hr CCTV in operation at Token booths and throughout the whole site

In the event of unforeseen circumstances the daily, free entertainment is subject to change or cancellation at any time. Please keep checking social media for any updates or changes

Any person engaging in abusive, abrasive or disorderly conduct will be removed from site

Management reserve the right to refuse admission to the event site
